- The KX-TA824 is the first Panasonic TA-series
phone system to be designed for PC-based programming by the
end-user, and the first to have both serial and USB ports for
programming.
- The PC can be plugged into the 824, or
connected remotely to its built-in modem.
- Panasonic expects to have FREE software
available in the summer of 2005. At that time, software will be
packaged with systems shipped from the factory. People who purchased
systems earlier will also be able to get the software.
- The 824 can also be programmed from a display
phone connected to the first jack (ext. 101). To get into
programming, press PROGRAM, star, pound, 1234 (default password).
- Programming steps are listed in the
Programming Manual, supplied with each new 824. Most of the steps
are the same as used with the KX-TA624. We will post an online cheat
sheet soon.
- The manual also includes instructions for
using the PC software.
